Author Biography

  • Stefano Gualeni, Institute of Digital Games, University of Malta

    Stefano Gualeni is a philosopher who designs digital games and a game designer who is passionate about philosophy. He is a full professor at the Institute of Digital Games (University of Malta), and a Visiting Professor at the Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD) in Laguna Beach, California. Among his monographic books are Virtual Worlds as Philosophical Tools (Palgrave, 2015), Virtual Existentialism (Palgrave, 2020 – with Daniel Vella), Fictional Games: A Philosophy of Worldbuilding and Imaginary Play (Bloomsbury, 2022 – with Riccardo Fassone), The Clouds: An Experiment in Theory-Fiction (Routledge, 2023), and Il Videogioco del Mondo (Time0, 2024).
